I wanted to try a summer in Madrid with UNO before committing myself to the MFA program. I am now totally sold on the program and can´t wait to apply for the coming spring semester. I think the quality of the instructors is as good as you will get anywhere.

— Alexis Wiggins

I left this course with a new experience of the poetic process-- that's honoring. Thank you!

— Imani Harrington

Regardless of whether you are interested in obtaining an advanced degree or simply wish to continue to hone your craft as a writer, the UNO program allows you to explore your craft.... The student and faculty interaction extends beyond the classroom to excursions, from the bullrings of Madrid to the Alcazar of Segovia. Discussions of craft abound in the local tabernas and tapas bars..... My time in Madrid offered a new way of seeing life--something the writer in me won't ever forget.

—Kelly McQuain

The Madrid Seminar provided me not only with an opportunity to expand creatively, but to experience another country. I am already looking ahead to next summer.

— Lisa Shillingburg

Madrid. It was extraordinary. Incredible instructors. Remarkable, well-planned outtings. Amazing students. A GREAT learning experience. And, more than anything else, one of the absolute best months of my life.

—Kurt Inderbitzen

I was extremely satisfied with this workshop. Dinty Moore is a great instructor. He really made an effort to make sure that every single person was satisfied and got what they wanted out of this course. I would take another class with him in the future if I had the opportunity. Thank you for all your hard work and for a productive, fun-filled month.

— Rachel Koppelman

As always, the UNO Study Abroad Programs offer an incredible experience, academically, culturally, and personally, and speaking as a tax accountant, an excellent tax write off and very good value for the money.

— Bettie McCarty Conklin

When I returned to the US, I could see even more the cultural differences between home and Madrid. In retrospect that awareness, combined with a broad base of expatriate literature, gave me additional perspective on why people go overseas to write— and why I'm looking forward to doing it again. Thoroughly enjoyable and challenging.

— Doug Bradburd

It'd be a long letter if I mentioned every act of kindness that Joseph and Amanda were able to fit into four weeks... the advice she gave me will echo in every word I write from now on. — Julian Zabalbeasco

The program was outstanding. Faculty was exceptional.... The reading series was consistently one of the best I've seen anywhere. A very engaging group of visiting readers.

The program as a whole was the greatest experience I've had in my life thus far; the faculty, students, weekly readings and everything else the month abroad included was phenomenal. Hank was the most inspiring instructor I've had the good fortune of working with. Thank you UNO.
