Summer Programs in Mexico and Europe 09

Some highlights of past summer's programs:

Atlanta playwright and novelist Jim Grimsley returned to the Writing Workshops in San Miguel de Allende to teach a Literary Science Fiction and Fantasy Workshop.
Read about Jim's course and accomplishments here.

Kristin Iversen joined the Writing Wrokshops in San Miguel to teach a non-fiction workshop. Also, returning to teach a second non-fiction workshop, was Steven Church.

Amanda Boyden and Joseph Boyden returned from their recent world tours to lead the fiction workshops with Rick Barton and Miles Harvey in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Amanda Boyden's latest novel Babylon Rolling has recently been released by Random House to rave reviews and enormous fanfare. Joseph Boyden's new novel, Through Black Spruce, releases from Penguin this year to worldwide anticipation, after his first novel, Three Day Road, was recently named an international bestseller. Joseph recently won the prestigious Giller Prize, one of the top five literary prizes in the world.

Kay Murphy joined The Writing Workshops in San Miguel for the first time to lead the poetry workshop in San Miguel de Allende.

John Gery led the poetry workshop and the Pound studies in Brunnenburg, as well as the tour of Pound's Venice.

Randy Bates went to Montpellier to lead the mixed-genre workshop on the Mediterranean.

And, again this summer, we offered a workshop in translation led by poet and translator Peter Thompson, in San Miguel de Allende.
